Summary

This webinar covers key impacts of JAMA’s “Sea Change” cohort study on the real duration of post-concussive symptoms in TBI patients and how it affects your client’s ADLs and IADLs. Persistent, injury-related functional limitations on your client following mild traumatic brain injury may continue longer than previously thought.

The cohort study found that the term mild TBI misrepresents the immediate and long-term burden of TBI and other co-occurring factors. Many patients in the study reported difficulties in aspects of day-to-day functioning 12 months post-injury, indicating the need for better follow-up and treatment.
